  1. What is the Website address of PMU University?

  2. Is PMU University a recognized University?
    Yes, PMU is a recognized University Under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956.

  3. Are all the Distance Education Programmes recognized ?
    Yes, all the Distance Education Programmes are recognized by the Distance Education Council,
    DEC Approved Vide.S.No.8661/DEC/PMU/TN/Recog/2008/Dt.30/06/2008

  4. Do I have to attend the PCP Compulsorily?
    Five marks will be awarded exclusively for attendance in PCP during the internal Assessments.

  5. What is the duration of the various Distance Education programmes of PMU University?
    For PG Programmes (Except MCA)- 2 years
    For MCA – 3 Years
    For all Diploma and PG Diploma Programmes – 1 Year
    For all M.Phil Programmes – 1 Year(Other than Tamilnadu)
    For all Ph.D Programmes – 3 –5 Years
    For all Certificate Programmes – 6 Months

  6. What would be the tentative Examination schedule and where the end examinations will be held?
    The Examination are tentatively scheduled to be held in the month of November / December and May/June every year and the written examinations will be held in recognized colleges / schools at the cities based on the strength in each Centre the Examination Centres will be fixed.

  7. Can you tell me the locations of various Study Centres of PMU University?
    The study Centres are located throughout the length and breadth of this country. Kindly refer the Website.

  8. What is the medium of instruction and in what language should I write the exam?
    The medium of instruction is English. However if a student wants answer in Tamil or Hindi he may do so.

  9. Where will the viva-voce will be conducted for M. Phil Programmes?
    The viva-voce for all the M. Phil Programmes will be conducted only at Periyar Maniammai Unviersity, Thanjavur and respective Regional Centres.

  10. Does Periyar Maniammai University have Centres abroad?
