PREAMBLE

Began in the year 1988, The Computer Science and Engineering Department imparts high quality education in the field of Computer Science and Engineering and also develops the overall personality of the students. It has been approved by the AICTE with the registration number 242:(E)/FT/97 on 12th November 1997.

The Department has well qualified faculty members and well equipped laboratories to develop the technical skills of the students. Our students have consistently bagged top ranks when our institution was under Bharadhidasan and Anna Universities.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

The students and the staff developed softwares for real time applications and the entire university campus has been automized. The department takes up consultancy projects with the help of Periyar Consultancy Services (PECS). The department faculty undertakes research and development projects from various national institutions and organizations

The association of the department called COMPFEZ conducts seminars, workshops and technical competitions to nurture the technical skills and to improve the knowledge in the recently developing fields of Computer Science and Engineering. The association arranges Welcome Saturday Program for updating the technical awareness of the students.

The CSE association organizes a national symposium called “i-Fiesta” every year with the help of The Computer Society of India, Student Chapter of this university. The symposium is fully organized by the students of the department with the guidance of the staff in order to improve their managerial, organizational and inter-personal skills.

COUNSELLING

Our students are given guidance in all walks of life through counseling. A group of 15 students are assigned a faculty member who is their counselor to help them cope up with the stresses and strains, which are deterring their performance and to motivate them to improve their caliber in all aspects.

PLACEMENT

Due to the perseverance in Training and Placement, many of our students have and are being placed at well reputed companies like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, CTS, HCL, Sathyam etc. This scenario is sure to improve manifold

SYMPOSIA AND CONFERENCES

The Department organizes National Conferences and Symposia annually. These are great boons to the improvement of the technical expertise of our future engineers. Besides, these events are of immense help in rendering leadership and crisis management qualities.

The students take an active part in the Symposia and Conferences of other colleges also and win many prizes.
