Dr. P.K.Srividhya, Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the first woman to assume the office of the Registrar at PMIST. An enthusiastic academician holding Doctorate in Energy Engineering; has received several awards like Best ISTE Secretary Award for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry State in 2002 and Best Chairman Award during her tenure as ISTE Secretary.
Her core administrative skills are evident in establishing strong relationship and welfare of all staff members, public relations, training and development. To her credit she is instrumental in: Implementing 20000 LPD solar water heater in the entire campus; Implemented LED systems in the campus for the energy conservation; Coordinator for implementing 5 Captive power generation using Bio Gas worth of 240 lakhs funded by MNRE; Periyar Renewable Energy Park (MNES/2001/ 8.10 Lakhs); 4.05 kW Solar Power Plant (MNES/2001/9.11 Lakhs) Periyar Renewable Energy Training Institute under Women and Renewable Energy Development Scheme (MNES/2002/15.10 Lakhs); Periyar R&D Bio Power Project 200 kW Bio-mass Gasifier (MNES/2003/30.70 Lakhs) are her major projects.
She has also attained various other projects like Integrating Rural Energy Programme – District Level Technical Back up Unit (TEDA/2006/3.62 Lakhs); Distributed / Grid Power Generation Programme 500 cum – 60 kW (MNRE/2010/21 Lakhs); Thermo Chemical Characterization of non edible seed cake for gasification (DST/2011/44.67 Lakhs); Summer Internship for Students from University of Prince Edward Island, Canada (Mitacs Globalink, Canada / 2018 / USD 6000); AICTE-ISTE grant for One week Online FDPs (for three times) on Emerging Trends in Automation (AICTE ISTE / 2020-21 / 2.79 Lakhs) and Study on high purity Oxygen separation from air (SERB – DST / 2021 / under final stage)
She has authored four books, produced three Ph.D. scholars and five research scholars are working under her guidance in various significant works. She is one among the UGC NAAC – Assessors; Member in various committees like – Growth and Development Committee; Administrative Committee; Board of Management; Planning and Monitoring Board and Secretary for Academic Council. Also holds the honorary position like Reviewer of Indian Journal of Chemical Technology. And has organized and attended 100+ FDPs, Workshops, Conferences, Symposiums, Seminars and Webinars. Moreover she has published 5 patents and published 33 research articles in various National and International Journals.
