About the Department

The Department of Mathematics is one of the pioneering and dedicated departments of the University that offers assistance to many of Information Technology and Engineering courses of the University. It is committed to the cause of quality education in mathematics that forms the basis for all the other fields and IT, a field growing in leaps and bounds. It provides a good theoretical foundation through high quality teaching. It is dedicated to the mission of providing honest, sincere principled and highly skilled professionals trained to adapt to the dynamic requirement of the IT industry and the society.

This department comprising of 18 faculty members are actively involved in teaching and research. To keep in touch with the ever-growing technology, the faculty members participate regularly in refresher courses and symposia/conferences conducted by various colleges and universities. The department has also conducted similar activities in the University Campus.

Apart from stressing on consistent and good academic performance, the department also encourages participation in the curricular and extra curricular activities to bring out the latest talents in its students.

The department is carrying out various research works in the fields of crystal growth, thin films, polymer conducting studies, vacuum tube collectors etc., The department is having part time /full time PhD program. Also, the department is having M.Phil regular course. The department is having a well-equipped laboratory, which fulfils the need of Ph.D., M.Phil., PG/UG Physics and Engineering students
