PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

The B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering programme is a four-year undergraduate programme comprising 180 credits across eight semesters, designed to provide strong foundations in mechanical engineering principles, analytical skills, and practical competencies.

The curriculum integrates foundation courses, professional core courses, professional electives, open electives, online courses, and employability enhancement components, supported by laboratories, internships, value-added courses, and a capstone project.

The B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering with Specialization in Robotics and Industrial Automation, also a 200-credit programme, emphasises robotics, computer vision, real-time systems, and AI-enabled automation for advanced manufacturing and smart industrial systems.

The programme also offers specialization pathways. The B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering with Specialization in Energy Engineering is a 200-credit programme focusing on renewable energy, energy conversion systems, energy storage, and energy management for sustainable development.

The M.Tech. Renewable Energy programme is a two-year postgraduate programme designed to develop advanced knowledge and research skills in sustainable and renewable energy technologies.

The curriculum comprises 80 credits distributed over four semesters, integrating foundation courses, programme core courses, programme electives, online courses, employability enhancement components, and value-added courses.

The programme provides strong theoretical and practical exposure in areas such as solar energy systems, wind and ocean energy systems, bioenergy, fuels and combustion technology, computational fluid dynamics, energy modelling and management, and industrial energy conservation and auditing.

The curriculum also emphasizes research methodology, internships, community engagement, and value-added courses, enabling students to develop professional, ethical, and societal perspectives. A two-phase project and dissertation (Project Phases I and II) provides opportunities to conduct independent research and solve real-world energy challenges.
