• The Department of Aeronautical Engineering was established in 2010 and later renamed as the Department of Aerospace Engineering in 2012. Since its inception, the department has been dedicated to excellence in aerospace education, research, and innovation. It is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and modern infrastructure that fully meet the requirements of the university curriculum, providing students with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience.
  • The department is guided by a team of highly qualified and experienced teaching and non-teaching staff who are committed to fostering academic growth and professional development among students. Actively contributing to the nation’s aspirations in the aerospace sector, the department engages in various projects and collaborative activities. Its continued association with the Air Force Station, Thanjavurhas resulted in several mutually beneficial research initiatives.
  • To enhance industry exposure and practical understanding, the department regularly organizes industrial visits to reputed organizations such as Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL), BrahMos Aerospace, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Taneja Aerospace and Aviation Limited (TAAL), and the Air Force Station, Thanjavur.
  • The department offers a strong Undergraduate Program in Aerospace Engineering and promotes research in diverse domains of aeronautical and aerospace engineering, preparing students to meet the evolving challenges of the aviation and space industries.
